Founded by a group of gaming enthusiasts, BalleBaazi is a fantasy gaming platform focussing on Cricket, Kabaddi, Football, Baseball, and Basketball and introducing more choices for an online gamer using the latest technology.
It recently launched its new campaign- #DumHaiTohYahanKhel with brand ambassador and cricketer Yuvraj Singh. It idolizes Yuvraj as a player who never gave up and played to see India left the World Cup. It ends with him posing a challenge to his fans – “Dum Hai Toh Yahan Khel” and to come to join him on the platform to test their skills against him and many others battling it out on BalleBaazi.com.
We reached out to BalleBaazi to comment on recent developments within fantasy gaming and Cricket. Here are the responses from Saurabh Chopra, CEO at BalleBaazi.
Surely, no major sporting tournaments for the last few months must have had a major impact on the site. How have you utilised this time? What have you done to keep the team motivation up.
Winning against all odds is our motto. Our Baazigar spirit and hunger for innovation has helped us overcome these trying times. Ever since we launched the BalleBaazi platform, it has been our goal to become the go-to platform for fantasy sports fans, across the country. During this time, we’ve managed to inch closer towards the aforementioned goal. We did not just only add sports like Baseball and Basketball, but have also introduced the BB Quiz, which covers different genres like Sports, General Knowledge, Math, and more. BalleBaazi is for the fans, by the fans. To be able to offer the signature BalleBaazi experience and keep it intact, even when there were no major sporting tournaments happening, was motivating enough for our #BBCrew.
A lot of companies were offering fantasy tournaments for little known league matches such as Vanuatu Blast, Vincy Premier League, Czech Super Series and Finnish Premier League. Were you doing the same?
Yes. Big or small, known or unknown, we’ve made it a point to cover each and every match and ensure that fans on our platform always get a chance to make their fantasy teams and that they never miss out on sports. Wherever there are live sports, our fans are assertive that they’ll always get a chance to get in on the action.
Fantasy Sports was doing quite well before the lockdown. Do you see your users returning with same enthusiasm once IPL and other International Cricket starts?
We like to believe that our association with our fans is more than just momentary because of the kind of features and rewards that we offer. We had big plans for IPL 2020 and the T20 World Cup but unfortunately even before we could start with our promotions, the lockdown happened. We’re pretty confident that once IPL and International Cricket Starts, the second innings of fantasy sports will be something historic.
How did you think about having Yuvraj Singh as your brand ambassador? What made you sign him up?
Yuvraj Singh exemplifies the Baazigar spirit. It’s his “bring it on” and “come what may” attitude, which everyone’s a fan of, drove us to sign him up as our brand ambassador.
Apart from Cricket, you offer other sports as well such as Kabbadi, Football and Baseball. Do you see your users switching to these games as well for creating teams?
Actually, it was our users who suggested us to add Baseball and Basketball; and we had to give them what they demanded because we take our user-first policy, rather seriously. We have already started seeing good traction, even though these American Sports are still pretty niche. Kabaddi, even though seasonal, is something that our users love and we see huge participation as much we would see in a regular cricket match.
BalleBaazi is one of India’s fastest-growing and trusted fantasy cricket app. Cricket fans who possess immense knowledge of gaming and team-building skills can leverage this online gaming platform to earn, evolve, and play their game.
