Poker Sports League 3rd Season is going virtual

Poker is a popular card game across India and other parts of the World. It has some variants available too, and Omaha and Texas Hold’em are two of its most popular variants worldwide.

Recently, Poker Sports League (PSL), announced going virtual for its 3rd Season this year. The present year is all cursed with the global pandemic, and in this situation, the virtual mode is the most preferable and safer one for all the events and tournaments.

Chairman of Dabur India, Amit Burman, and Pranav Bagai, are the co-founders of Poker Sports League. It hosted for the very first time in 2017 at Goa’s Deltin Royale, an on-shore casino on the river Mandovi. As for the 4th season of the league, they plan to make it go live if the Covid-19 pandemic calms down.

For the previous two years, the parent company has focused much on the development of its poker app and poker streaming’s other pursuits for the business. The upcoming PSL-V (Poker Sports League – Virtual) league might get hosted over the Hastag Poker app, a virtual streaming service. PSL also hosted an exclusive charity in the last month, known as Virtual Poker League, for testing the platform’s streaming capabilities.

Across the world, PSL is one of the largest poker tournaments in terms of the number of participants and the prize pool. Currently, PSL – V has a huge prize pool worth 2 crores INR for around 30 games. The winning team might go back to their place with 60 lakh INR, the second place securing team will get 36 lakh INR, and the third position securer will receive 24 lakh INR.

Previously, in October 2020 and November 2020, the online qualifiers got hosted for the league, and now 8 teams will compete for PSL – V. The list of the team includes Mumbai Anchors, Kolkata Kings, Goan Nuts, Gujarat Falcons, Delhi Czars, Deccan Aces, and two others for whom bidding is to occur.

Further, for all the selected teams, there will be a special PSL Bootcamp from 6th January 2021 to 12th January 2021. Then the virtual league tournaments will begin from 16th January 2021 and run till 11th February 2021. The finale for the matches will be held from 19th February 2021 to 21st February 2021.

Viswanathan Anand, the chess Grandmaster will endorse the upcoming PSL league.
