The inaugural edition of the national Esports league, Esports Premier League (ESPL) 2021; received an unprecedented response from the gaming community; with over 1 million registrations, and has just completed the final user registration phase.

Registration for the event opened on June 16, 2021. Season 1 of the league hosted virtually for two and a half months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ESPL 2021, with Infinix smartphone as the presenting sponsor, is being held under the auspices of a gamer-centric campaign #ESPLGameSeFame; which encourages players to showcase their best game and be recognized in the industry.

ESPL preparing for the Second Level of the tournament

The ESPL, India’s first franchise-based Esports league for Free Fire, is gearing up for the tournament’s Second Level. Out of the over 1 million registered users; the top 400 players from 88 teams will advance to Level 2; where the top 8 invited teams from India will join the mix. This brings the total number of teams in the level to 96. These teams will divide into eight groups of twelve to compete for the top eight positions. The top eight teams will represent the ESPL’s eight regions.

ESPL will have the best Free Fire teams in India by the end of Level 2. The magnitude of the tournament highlights ESPL 2021 as the platform for all Free Fire players to demonstrate their abilities. The fact that the tournament has surpassed one million registrations demonstrates the platform’s significance. This figure also demonstrates India’s growing interest in Esports.

The majority of the gamers signed up to participate in the tournament in the final few days of registration period; demonstrating the league’s far-reaching impact and popularity in the gaming space. The ESPL 2021 prize money is a whopping INR 25 lakh. With its high-octane and nail-biting matches in the game Free Fire; the league has managed to create a strong buzz and capture the attention of gamers in its early stages.
